Colorado Private Land Elk and Mule Deer Hunts

Hunt trophy elk and mule deer across multiple Colorado game units with access to 30,000+ acres, including private ranches in GMUs 69 and 84, on fully guided archery, muzzleloader, and rifle hunts.
Nearly 40 Years of Colorado Hunting Experience

Experience exceptional Colorado big game hunting with a family-operated program rooted in the Wet Mountains near Westcliffe. Established in 1984, this operation has spent nearly four decades developing relationships with landowners and managing quality hunting properties. Conservation, habitat improvement, and selective harvest practices have consistently produced trophy-class animals and generations of returning hunters.

Private-Land Elk Hunting in Multiple Colorado Units

Hunters have access to outstanding private properties across multiple Colorado Game Management Units, including GMUs 69 and 84. Two contiguous ranches alone combine for more than 17,000 acres of private hunting land, while the overall operation provides access to more than 30,000 acres of quality Colorado hunting country.

Terrain varies dramatically by property and elevation. Lower country from approximately 5,000 to 6,500 feet features expansive meadows, pinyon and juniper, and deep canyons. Higher elevations transition into oak brush, mountain parks, ponderosa pine, spruce forests, and aspen stands.

Colorado Elk Hunts and Rut Opportunities

Select properties offer the rare opportunity to rifle hunt bull elk during the rut, with guaranteed licenses available through Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Elk hunting begins in early September and continues through November.

These properties provide excellent spot-and-stalk hunting, while established ranch roads and ATV trails make productive hunting areas more accessible. The combination of private acreage, limited hunting pressure, and quality habitat creates outstanding opportunities for mature Colorado bulls.

Fully Guided Colorado Mule Deer Hunts

Mule deer hunting is available on private ranches in GMUs 69 and 84, as well as select National Forest and BLM lands. Hunters can choose from archery, muzzleloader, and rifle hunts while pursuing trophy-class bucks across diverse Southern Colorado terrain.

Hunting packages consist of five-day, fully guided hunts with experienced and knowledgeable guides. Accommodations include meals and lodging at either a comfortable ranch bunkhouse or the primary ranch house/lodge.

More Colorado Hunting Opportunities

In addition to elk and mule deer, opportunities include Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, antelope, mountain lion, black bear, Merriam’s turkey, and predator hunting. With hunts offered across multiple units, extensive private acreage, proven wildlife management, and diverse terrain, hunters can experience some of the finest big game hunting Southern Colorado has to offer.
