Newfoundland Black Bear Hunt
This Newfoundland black bear hunt requires a minimum of four hunters to book. Evenings are spent in tree stands over bait, while mornings may include spot-and-stalk opportunities for those who choose. Additionally, you can combine speckled trout fishing at no extra cost, with trout ranging from pan-sized to 2 lbs at hunting locations. For July hunts, fly-out Atlantic salmon fishing is also available.
Guided Trophy Hunts
These fully guided hunts are designed to accommodate hunters of all experience levels. The outfitter focuses on quality over quantity, producing trophy black bears in the 325–500+ lb range. The North West Gander River ground-accessed lodge and Sam’s Pond fly-in lodge provide excellent bases for these premium spring hunts.
Hunting Area & Camp Setup
This region has been identified by the local DNR as a major problem area for bears due to high populations and predation on caribou herds. Bears over 500 lbs are not uncommon here. Because of the vast hunting area, spike camps are used for stands that may be 25–30 miles from the lodge, giving hunters access to prime locations while maintaining comfort and safety.
