Yukon Territory Mountain Grizzly Bear Hunt Overview
A Yukon Territory Mountain Grizzly Bear Hunt delivers a true wilderness experience in an area with almost no hunting pressure. Because this region remains remote and lightly hunted, grizzly bears here grow old, large, and exceptionally well-furred. These hunts may be booked as a single-species adventure in either the spring or fall; however, they can also be combined with other fall big-game hunts for added opportunity.
Exceptional Bear Quality & Trophy Potential
Mountain Grizzlies in this area are known for their impressive size and striking appearance. Typically, mature boars range from 7 to 9 feet, with color phases varying from dark chocolate to light blonde and everything in between. Additionally, due to some of the coldest winter temperatures in the North, these bears develop exceptionally thick, high-quality fur, making them outstanding trophies.
Hunting Seasons & Proven Methods
All grizzly hunts are conducted using the spot-and-stalk method, both in spring and fall. Furthermore, during fall hunts, bears may also be taken over a legally harvested gut pile when conditions allow. In the months of August through October, hunters generally use horses, Argo vehicles, or ATVs to access the front range. Meanwhile, spring hunts rely on jet boats, snowmobiles, or ATVs depending on snow levels. Consequently, each season offers a unique and exciting hunting style.
Physical Requirements & Field Conditions
Both spring and fall hunts require a moderate amount of walking, extensive glassing, and—most importantly—patience. Additionally, spring hunters should be prepared to use snowshoes if conditions demand it. Although the terrain can be challenging, the experienced crew ensures hunters are positioned effectively throughout the hunt.
An Unforgettable Northern Adventure
Ultimately, a Yukon Territory Mountain Grizzly Bear Hunt combines high success rates, minimal pressure, and seasoned guides to create a truly unforgettable experience. With prime habitat, outstanding trophy potential, and multiple hunt options, this adventure stands among the best grizzly hunts available in the North today.
