Alberta – Spring Black Bear Hunt

This Spring black bear hunt takes place late April to the second week of June, focused mainly on the last month of Spring bear season when the bears are out full force, hungry and feeding.
Rifle and Archery Hunters Welcome

This outfitter accommodates both rifle and archery hunters, each with excellent opportunities to harvest a trophy black bear—or even two. Spot-and-stalk black bear hunts are offered in both the spring and fall seasons.

Prime Habitat Across Multiple Watersheds

The main hunting area spans the Berland, McCloud, Athabasca, and Elk River watersheds. Rolling hills, flowing water, reforested clear cuts, blueberry-covered pipelines, and river ridges create ideal habitat that draws in large black bears in a variety of color phases.

Experienced Guides Who Know the Country

These guides have hunted the region for decades and know exactly where and when to find mature Canadian black bears. You’ll cover ground by ATV and 4×4 while checking clear cuts, pipelines, and south-facing ridges, as well as utilizing tree stands, blinds, and proven glassing points—producing excellent success rates year after year.

Opportunity for a Second Bear

In several zones, hunters may take a second bear, adding even more value and excitement to the hunt.
