Alberta – Whitetail Hunt in the Chinook Belt

The Ranch is situated in the Chinook belt, west of Calgary, which means deer population is not affected by winter weather as is the case in other parts of the province.
Hunting Grounds

With thousands of acres of prime deer country, success is over 95%. All hunts are fair chase (no fences). Deer hunts are limited to 16 hunters spread over the month of November.

Hunting Methods

Spot and stalk is the normal hunting method with some stand hunting. Deer can be seen throughout the day, with well over 100 whitetail and half as many mule deer, several of which are bucks. Most recent years saw average Boone & Crockett bucks over 150 points, with some exceeding 180.

Archery and Rifle

Although most hunters rifle hunt, there is high-success archery hunting available, with many qualifying for Pope & Young. Mule deer hunts are not sold separately but can be added onto the whitetail hunt for an additional fee. Pre-booking is required to ensure permits.

Guides

2-on-1 guide ratio is standard. Private guides available for an additional fee.

Accommodations

Cozy ranch house located a few miles from the main cattle ranch. First-class meals are prepared by a camp cook with over 20 years of experience. All hunting is within a 30-minute drive from the cabin.

Travel

Hunters fly direct to Calgary, Alberta from most major U.S. cities. Arrival pick-up is provided, followed by a 45-minute drive to the ranch.
