As the smallest of the Argali’s, the Severtzov’s Argali stands at a shoulder height of between 34-38 inches. The winter coat is dark brown on the top of the torso, slightly paler on the neck, and grayish-brown on flanks and tail. The head is darker than the neck. Morphologically, this sheep looks as an intermediate between the urials and argalis, as it exhibits characteristics of both. In 1996 scientists determined, while working from blood and tissue samples, that the Severtzov’s Argali sheep is indeed an argali, with 56 chromosomes. The Servertzov’s Argali are hunted year-round, but the best months to hunt these Argali in Uzbekistan is between the months of October - December. This Argali hunt is an 8-Day, 1x1 hunt that includes one Severtzov’s Argali of any size with no additional trophy fees! 4x4 vehicles are used for some of the base level transportation around the hunting area. During the day, the hunting team scouts for the ibex in the animal’s feeding and rest areas. These are classic mountain hunts with a lot of horseback riding and hiking. Base camps are comfortable hunting cabins with simple conveniences inside. There are DBL rooms, living rooms, showers, and WC.
