Uzbekistan is a great destination for all mountain hunters, and especially for those attempting to harvest the prized Bukharan Urial. The Bukharan Urial are hunted Year-Round in Uzbekistan, making it a great hunt anytime of year! The Bukhara Urial hunt is a 8-Day, 1x1 hunt that includes one Bukhara Urial of any size. 4x4 vehicles are used for transportation around the hunting area. In some areas, horses are available. During the day, the hunting team scouts for the markhor in the animal’s feeding and rest areas. The hunt is spot-and-stalk; the stalk is completed on foot. Mountain hunting in Uzbekistan is quite demanding due to the steep terrain. Shooting distance averages 400-500 yards/meters. Altitude is from 8,200 up to 11,500 feet (2,500 up to 3,500 meters). Bukharan Markhor are hunted in the Surxondaryo region. A domestic flight from Tashkent to Termez, Uzbekistan is available, followed by 1-2 hour car transfer and then 1-2 hour horseback ride into the hunting camp. Accommodations for this hunt are either base camps as well as spike tent camps. Base camps are comfortable hunting cabins with simple conveniences inside.
