If you are looking for an exceptional Alaskan Spring Grizzly Bear hunt in breath-taking scenery with a preferred Alaskan outfitter that does not require a charter flight, this hunt is a hunt to take a look at! This grizzly bear hunt is a 9-Day hunt that the outfitter tailors to your preferences, both in advance and once you’re in the field. For those that want to really follow "The Track of the Grizzly" this outfitter employs a range of hunting techniques to fit your hunting preferences including: Spot & Stalk as well as predator calling, both on-foot and via 4-Wheel Drive vehicles and ATVs as needed. If you prefer a less physically demanding option, this outfitter also has bait stations available, which enhance the already high percentage of opportunities, particularly in the Spring when grizzlies are stocking up after coming out of hibernation. The area this outfitter hunts has almost no hunting pressure, and consistently contains nothing short of beautiful bears with great hides, a good percentage (50%) of which display the desirable "Toklat" multicolor hide pattern, meaning blonde bodies paired with dark chocolate legs. In addition to grizzly, you can also hunt black bear as they're in season in the Spring. For size expectations, the average grizzly bear with this outfitter is usually in the range of 6.8 ft - 8 ft with the average being in the range of 7.5 ft in length, in Fall of 2023 the last grizzly bear hunter harvested his bear at 7’10”. For Black Bear, these bear usually fall in the range of 6 ft - 6.5 ft with opportunities for larger bears. This is a comprehensive package which includes pickup and drop-off anywhere in Anchorage, along with food, lodging, and additional amenities for up to 10-Days. Depending on the range of possible weather conditions in the Talkeetna Range, this outfitter has the option of staying in various locations, either in tents, an RV, or a small cabin. If the hunt needs to go the full 9 days, this outfitter also has the option to come in from the field and spend a night or two at a nearby lodge with full amenities at an additional cost of $130.00 USD/Night, this is an option that can also be designed to encompass the full hunt for accommodations if the client would prefer. This all being said, on these Spring grizzly bear hunts it is rare that clients spend a full 8-Days in the field as they usually use all their tags well before the the full 8-Days on a 9-Day Hunt. For example, this past Fall of 2023 all grizzly bear and Dall sheep hunts were 100% successful. This outfitter will handle all field dressing of any game taken, and will deliver all skins, skulls, horns, and meat to your choice of tannery, taxidermist, or shipping expediter in the area. You can choose to hunt with modern long guns of course, but archery, muzzle-loading weapons, and even handguns are perfectly acceptable provided they are legal for big game hunting in Alaska and adequate to harvest the game you want to hunt, and provided that you can demonstrate proficiency with them beforehand. Bookings require a 50% deposit with the remainder due no less than 60 days before the hunt begins. The deposit is non-refundable, but if you cannot make the hunt we will work with you to the best of our ability to reschedule your hunt in the future. This outfitter can also help you obtain your Alaska hunting license and tags for the game you want to hunt. Non-Hunting Observers can accompany you on the hunt for $200.00 USD/PP/Day in the field (if hunt ends early no charge for the remaining days). As required by law, a wounded animal counts towards your allotted animal on the hunt. A wounded animal is defined as one that has been hit by a projectile, (usually this means that there is sign that blood has been drawn, but not always!) That being said, this outfitter ensures all prospective clients that they will make an absolutely Herculean effort to recover any animal that is wounded on all hunts that they guide and orchestrate. As this hunt is in a very remote location, there is no cell service, however, this outfitter will have an active satellite communication device that anyone can utilize to keep in contact with the outside world, as well as an emergency SOS signal if ever needed. This is provided at no extra cost. Ultimately, this outfitter covers all details and delivers a level quality in the backcountry that few can match. With a multitude of hunting styles and accommodations to choose from paired with the ability to harvest a truly beautiful Toklat Grizzly bear at an exceptional price, this is a hunt that you surely will enjoy and provides you with a exceptional Spring hunting adventure in the Talkeetna Mountain Range of Alaska.
