The Central Plateau Whitetail Deer lives in the rugged mountains terrain of North Central Mexico. Considered one of the most challenging species for North America trophy hunters, the smallest whitetail deer, averages between 80 and 100 lbs. Dressed. This Mexican deer is one of the 5 new subspecies eligible for the SCI Record Book. This outfitter offers a 5-Day Central Plateau deer hunts that take place in the mountains of the Sierra Madre in state of Zacatecas during the months of January and February, so you will be hunting between 6,500 to 8,500 feet above sea. All hunts are fair chase tracking on foot all the rolling hills and canyons of the Sierra Madre country, by a previous transportation in 4x4 vehicles up to the hunting area. Once a trophy buck is located by glassing them, the “spot and stalk” method is used to get within shooting range, but when a trail or water pond is heavily used, a ground blind is a very good option to harvest a nice buck. This outfitter harvests every year a good amount of trophy bucks scoring over the 120 SCI mark. Their professional guides know the behavior of the bucks like the back of their hands in this area and will do anything for you to have the best hunting experience possible in Mexico.
