Adventure Description
Trophy: Hunting all private ground in Unit 85 of south-central Colorado, this outfitter specializes in trophy bulls, in the 300-350 class, with an occasional bull even better. Hunters stay in a comfortable lodge. Easy hunt to draw for rifle and over-the-counter for archery, with a couple of points needed for the muzzleloader hunt in mid-September. A lot of elk on these ranches, you will be “into” elk every day. Archery specialists. All hunts are five days, and 1x1 or 2x1 guided (your choice, same pricing). Public Land Hunts: These are public land elk hunts, in Unit 85, near La Veta, in southern Colorado. This is great elk country, with some bulls scoring 300 inches and better. You have to be in shape to book this hunt. Wall tent camp will be set up to stay up in the mountains as well with spike tent camp equipment. Since its public land, success is not a given but over 70,000 acres to hunt much of which can only be accessed through this Outfitter's private ranches. Hunters need to be in good shape as this is steep country and need to be an experienced hiker and backpacker to make this hunt enjoyable. If you can handle the mountains and are looking for chance to harvest a good bull right next door to some prime private land hunting without paying the private land price this is a great option. Meals not included.
