Mule deer hunt on a 2,000-acre private ranch in western Colorado. The ranch is located within WMU #42 and is just west of Rifle, CO. Terrain in this area makes for ideal mule deer country. There is a resident deer population but mainly the ranch sees a good number of migrating deer herds coming through each fall. They harvest great bucks with high success rates on 150+ bucks. Unit 42 is known to hold big monster bucks, and some are harvested every season. Lodging is a newly built comfortable lodge and 3 sleeping cabins which is located on the ranch. Lodging and meals are included in the hunt cost. Hunt transportation while on the ranch can be by truck, ATV, horseback, or hiking. You can drive directly to the ranch. If flying, Denver or Grand Junction would be airports to consider, then rent a vehicle and drive to the ranch. The hunt cost is typically $8,300 ($7,000 for the hunt & $1,300 for the landowner voucher). 5 day hunt. This is one of the best areas in Colorado for big mule deer bucks.
