This hunting area boasts one of the best Bighorn Sheep populations in Alberta—and arguably, anywhere in North America. Located in west-central Alberta, right in the heart of the province’s total Bighorn range, our hunting grounds are conveniently situated in your outfitter’s own backyard and childhood stomping grounds. This region covers some of the most highly regarded sheep country in the province, offering an unparalleled hunting experience. Each year, this outfitter receives a limited number of Bighorn tags, and over time, this area has produced a wide range of trophy rams in both size and age. Bighorn Sheep are significantly larger in body size compared to other wild sheep and hunting them is no easy task. They thrive in rugged, challenging terrain, making this hunt one for those truly seeking an adventure. In this area, a legal ram must meet the ⅘ curl requirement, providing more opportunities for hunters than full-curl-only zones. Once a ram is harvested, it must be inspected by a biologist, plugged, and registered with the province. The season runs from September 1st to October 15th. Camps are thoughtfully set up to ensure both comfort and practicality in the backcountry. Each camp varies in setup, with some featuring rustic yet comfortable wall tents equipped with wood stoves, beds or cots, and propane or generator-powered lights. These camps serve their purpose well, providing a warm meal and a place to rest after a long, rewarding day in the field. While some camps offer more amenities, all are designed to meet the standard of remote northern hunting camps. Each is equipped with propane cooking setups, cooking utensils, cutlery, and an accessible water source. For those seeking a true Bighorn Sheep hunting adventure in the heart of Alberta’s best sheep country, this is an experience like no other.
